Phoenix Reborn is due to release later this fall in September/October time zone. I had to share this beautiful cover by Carl Franklin at Rebel Ink Press.
The daily grind of protecting Phyro from the dark witches that hunt her for Phoenix tears, blood and more, has almost flat lined the romance between dragon shifter/ body guard, Tameron Murphy and Phyro Khant. Tam purchases an amethyst pendant from Salynne’s Crystals and Thyme to enchant as a protective amulet for Phyro.
When an effort to imbue the stone with protective power backfires and grabs them with a spell previously coded into the stone. The magic ignites an inferno of passion the two lovers can’t seem to quench no matter how much sex they have.
The Phoenix flies far above on powerful wings wide as a condor. Its forward facing predatory eyes sharp, shrewd, always scanning the world from its lofty haven, searching for purpose to fulfill, compassion and healing its guiding mission. Plumage colored in orange red, yellows and blue accented with living tongues of flame swirling along the feathered edges as it moved. Its existence of living in the moment exemplifies true freedom. Yet its regal bearing embraces gratitude for the simplistic graciousness of life. The word resplendent was man’s first inadequate attempt to describe the bird’s ethereal beauty. The uninitiated might say ‘look what an oddly colored peacock’, until faced with the birds wise gaze which turned those thoughts inward and revealed its true magic. A man having seen the magnificent animal close enough to touch, bound his eyes closed, tears remained on his cheeks, because he surely knew he would never see another sight more exquisite. The Phoenix shifted to her womanly form kissed away the tear but could not coax him from his self-imposed blindness.
