Fantasy Man Monday

Happy Halloween ya’ll.

Samhain! ohhh, puts me in mind of all kinds of luscious hero types.

What would you like for Halloween?

Sexy Soldier?

A fireman, perhaps?

Cowboys are always popular.

I personally always wanted to be on the side of the Indians.

Halloween – Religious Holiday – Halloween Blog Hop.

The Blog Hop Continues. Check out all the authors involved over at Drea’s Page. Many are running fantastic contests. I’m giving away an E-ARC of “Once Upon A Twisted Tale”

On the Subject of Halloween. To 9/10ths of the population Halloween is a fun freaky holiday to scare themselves with horror movies, dress up in costume, go bar hopping or take the kiddies around to neighbors houses begging goodies.

Is that all there is to Halloween?

The real celebration is Samhain. A Celtic celebration of harvest. Commemoration of the end of the “light” side of the year and beginning of the “Dark” side of the year. Festival of the Dead. A time to remember those who’ve passed on to the other side. Samhain is a time when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest. Contact with those who’ve passed from this life is most possible.

Have you ever had contact from someone who is on the other side of the veil?

Within the Wiccan religion the Aged Horned God reaches the end of his life and the Goddess is in the form of an elder crone. The cycle of seasons is drawing to a close. It is a time for ritual and celebration.

Alter gifts of fruits and vegetables is appropriate as it recognizes the harvest. The Apple is particularly appropriate in it’s symbolism of the cycle of life. The apple is picked from the tree or falls to rot on the ground. The flesh and seeds (life) are released back to the earth. Ultimately to be born again as the seeds sprout to grow a new tree. It is a symbolic representation of the eternity; life, death, and resurrection to new life.

I wonder how Wiccan and other Pagans feel about the traditions that have arisen around Halloween. Do they feel is is a desecration of a Holy Day?

Paw Prints – Rebel Relay

The newest fun project from Rebel Ink Press. A bunch of the Rebel Gang of signed authors have jumped on board to be part of the Rebel Relay. The way it works is we ALL work together on a story line in tag team relay style. The story goes around twice with each author adding 500 words to the existing manuscript. Our magical editor will have final editorial bippity, boppity, boo and “Paw Prints” will be released. You can expect it to be fantastic. Rebel Ink has a line up of amazing talent.

“What happens when twenty five writers get together with a story idea geared toward helping better one small corner of the world? Meet Kylie Wright and Buster and find out this December in Paw Prints, a brand new story created by Rebel Writers for a Cause with all proceeds going to the National Humane Society.”

I have always loved animals. My undergraduate degree is actually in Equestrian Education with a full second major in Psychology. Tell me about one animal that you will never forget.

Mine is our family dog Sunny. She was loaned to us. (Cause you don’t give away someone you love.) by a family we knew with the stipulation that if our situation ever changed, we would give her back. Sunny was a yellow lab. She knew how to do amazing things. You name any dog trick and she could probably do it. Cheese on nose, yep. Fetch…why heck she could play baseball in the outfield. She was an animal our whole family and the family who gave her to us, loved every moment of her life.

She went on TV with me to teach children Dog Safety. She went with me to schools to teach programs on a variety of subjects. One even on nutrition and why it is important to eat right. She earned her canine good citizen standing. She could do obedience, agility, showmanship in the world of dog showing.

I saw her a little sore, off stride one day…I thought well, she’s 12 years old. She’d played hard all her life. Maybe she has a touch of arthritis. Then, I saw her shoulder swollen. I took her to the vet and received the news. She had a large tumor inside her shoulder joint. My children were out of town. They came home to spend Sunny’s last couple of days loving her and then we ended her suffering. We buried her out at the farm. She made our lives better and I will always miss her. She goes on record as the most wonderful dog I’ve ever known.

Tell me your favorite pet story.

Once Upon A Twisted Tale – Release Day

Release Day for Once Upon A Twisted Tale.

“Once Upon A Twisted Tale”
Escape to a world of make believe where all your grown up fantasies can now be realized. Where Neverland means never denying yourself the most intimate, wicked treats and where what you wear to the ball isn’t nearly as important as what you don’t. Experience a tantalizing set of stories where fairy tales take on an unexpected twist and journey to a place where real love isn’t defined in terms of a cookie cutter princess. After all, happily-ever-after isn’t the staple of a charmed life…

The editor at Rebel Ink Press put out the call for authors to participate in the anthology due to come out October 17, 2011, with a theme of twisted fairy tales. I thought ah, just in time for Halloween! I have to get involved. After a little bit of research Nathaniel and Ike found me and told me their story.

“The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” M/M Erotic Historic Romance
The Galloping Ghoul rides each full moon, exacting revenge by frightening those who tormented his past. By day, he is one of the town people, Nathaniel Hawkins, an affluent entrepreneur. He identifies with Ike Sandhill, a government surveyor, and wants to protect him from the same thugs who drove Nathaniel to revenge. Ike goes to the extreme to prove to everyone how straight laced he is. He pursues Misty VonMix with the intention of marriage. Nathaniel doesn’t know how to confess his desire without driving Ike away. He comes up with a plan of seduction. Before the night is over Ike discovers things about himself he always knew, yet denied.

“Massachusetts, 1790
Somewhere in the Bridgewater Triangle, old wives tell tales in hushed tones about strange lights in the sky and the Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp. They say the specter rides on the night of the full moon. They don’t know what drives him to haunt unsuspecting travelers. Those who’ve crossed his path flee in fear for their lives. If the victims know why he rides, they never say.”….

…Hell’s bells, what a goat fuck. Augustus stood patiently while Nathaniel hoisted Ike’s lanky frame up into the saddle and mounted behind to support his unconscious burden. The flight brought them to the borders of Nathaniel’s estate.
“Time to go home, Augustus.”
Nathaniel’s pulse pounded at the proximity of Ike in the saddle, his head resting on Nathaniel’s shoulder. How badly he wanted to brush the wayward lock of golden hair back from the man’s brow. No more hiding. Before the night was over, Nathaniel would be sure Ike Sandhill knew his full intentions. He couldn’t go on in this limbo half-life watching from afar. By dawn, they’d both be changed men. He prayed he could convince Ike to take what he had to offer, to take a chance, to take something, anything from him.

Once Upon a Twisted Tale will be released at several online e-book sellers including Amazon Kindle, All Romance E Books, Barnes & Noble Nook and Bookstrand.

Fantasy Man Monday

I realize it is only the end of September. Yet Fall is in the air and thoughts are turned to Halloween.

How do you like your Fantasy Man dressed for the season?

Pirates are the rage since Captain Jack Sparrow sailed through our fantasies.

And ever since Bravehart women all over the world wondered just what the Scottsman has hidden is under that kilt?

Oh and by the way, I am very particular about my vampires. You see…this is the thing…They don’t sparkle.

Vampires, an equally popular Halloween Choice.

However, you like your Fantasy Men dressed up…er. undressed

Be a little devil and have fun with the holiday season.

Fantasy Man Monday

My October short story release “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” is a male/male romance. My men aren’t the sterotypical “gay” guys. In honor of my main characters in the story, Nanthaniel and Ike, I have a few Fantasy Men to share today.

It’s been demonstrated that male/male romance appeals to the middle aged female demographic. Why is that?

What does it take for a male/male romance to hold your interest? What turns you off in this sub-genre’ of fiction?

When is too much just too much?

Coffee Time Romance

Rebel Ink Authors are over at Coffee Time Romance today blogging about their books and upcoming releases.

Come on over and join the fun

Fantasy Man Monday

The heart wrenching memories of 9/11/01 can not be denied. So much senseless loss. Yet like the battered 9/11 tree we continue on, scared at times, but not defeated. And new life, new beauty, new resolve to live life out loud.

Think of our Fantasy Men in Uniform.

I couldn’t resist.

Okay I would drop and give you 20 but this hunkilicious (yeah, new word, add it to your dictionary. lol) gentleman does it so much better.

Whoo Whee, I need someone to put out this fire.

What is not to love about an earthy man, in uniform…pieces of uniform… Ah, well at least a man with a big….gun.

Brings out the huntress in all of use, doesn’t it?

Joyful Monday
