Dar’kind Promises – Secret Thirty

Today is release day for Dar’kind Promises. I hope you have enjoyed our month of secret reveals about the story and the world created through it.

My work to date with Rebel Ink Press started with the anthology Once Upon a Twisted Tale and my short The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp in Oct of 2011.

In Dec, 2011 I was part of a collaborative team from Rebel Ink Press that wrote and released Paw Prints to raise money for animal rescue.200x300PawPrints

Then in Feb of 2012 Raynia’s Magic Released. I love this cover. I dream of having it framed as art work on my wall. LOL

Later that spring we re-released the Galloping Ghoul under it’s own cover apart from the Anthology. I think that cover is probably my favorite.

And today, Dar’kind Promises is released.  Maybe this is my favorite cover. LOL. Technically my fourth real launch. Somehow, for the first time it seems real. I have a giddy excitement and so much hope for the future.

The Galloping Ghoul Of Hockomock Swamp

I had great news from my publisher Rebel Ink Press, this week.  The short novellette I wrote for the “Once Upon A Twisted Tale” anthology released last October has been selected to be offered as a stand alone.

I’ll keep you posted as details are negotiated for release.

It is a fun male male erotic historic romance. You’ll find laughs and steamy sex.

Kudos to my former partner R.M. Kinore for her invaluable assistance during the revision process on this story. Truly, The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp wouldn’t have existed without her research skills.

Once Upon a Messed Up Evening

Whew, what a day. I only have this one day off my day job. We are settling into a new apartment after a disastrous failed relationship that brought me to Chattanooga, TN.

We are in the new apartment, unpacking, settling in. There are so many things to replace that I had given away because my girlfriend had better etc…. now out on my own again…well I find the interest in having pots rather integral to survival.

We are mostly unpacked that his juncture. I love my new apartment. We are putting together the little decorative touches that make it homey. We have the pot rack up. Starting to find places for the art work. All of my clothes are hung in the closets. Yes…. I have two. I am FEM and love it, so, yet two closets are cool. My plants are on the balcony. I planted lettuce today. So, many little things to do that help make it home.

I was so excited to have “Raynia’s Magic” a novellette published by Rebel InK Press, released in February. It feels good.

I am still working a grueling day job. Many parts of my body hurt, all…the….time….

And while I am recovering from a tragically, awful…. failed relationship….again…. there is always hope. Hope for a brighter tomorrow, hope for renewed love, hope for happiness with someone who cares, and understands my quirky nature.

Thanks for being a reader, friend and listening. I hope you enjoy my writing. Check out “Once Upon A Twisted Tale” with my story “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” and the novellette, “Raynia’s Magic” More to come. I have a couple of dragon shapeshifters that love one woman and want me to tell their story.

I will be blogging over at Sex Marks The G-Spot this month and also at Rebel Reasonings.

This evening, I broke my phone, blew out the power in my new apartment, ordered pizza for dinner cause…duha, no power….had to have the maintenance man come from GA to fix the power….. What a day. It was technically a day off work but I ran the live long day. Took my mom (she is in assisted living) and her dog on all their various appointments, tried to buy herbs to plant (they aren’t available yet), visited the bread thrift story, several trips to Ace Hardware, I think it is time for a shower…..lol
Come on over for a visit. Thanks for being a reader. I think it is margaritaville time. LOL

Matters of the Heart

Things are seldom as they seem. My friends know the pain I am feeling ending a two year relationship with my best friend and love. I couldn’t be the person she needed. She couldn’t be the person I needed.

I am not one to air dirty laundry over the internet. We were both right, we were both wrong. Mostly wrong for each other. I’ll not call her names, like raving lunatic. I count the toll of what I sacrificed to make this relationship work. Sadly, I think if our roles were reversed she would be equally distraught.

I am hurt. I am sad. I feel foolish for the poor choices I’ve made. I’ve hurt my family and myself. I’ve lost happiness and joy with the person that I am. I hope I can find me again.

In the meantime, I begin 2012 dedicated to that endeavor. I will get my career back on track. Yes, it involves travel. I happen to like to travel. I can’t support myself and family on menial labor wages. I hope the fates give me a second chance. I promise to appreciate it more this go round.

I was privileged to sign with Rebel Ink Press this year for two short novelettes in their Halloween and Valentines anthologies, respectively. “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” in “Once Upon A Twisted Tale” anthology. “Raynia’s Magic” coming out Valentines, 2012 in “Tempting Cupid”.

I was also honored to be part of their “Paw Prints” Rebel writers for a cause. Twenty-five of us collaborated in a round robin manner to create a contemporary romance. The proceeds will go to support animal rescue. All three are available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Book Strand, and All Romance.

I am setting writing goals and making my writing career move forward. Yes, these are difficult times in publishing. The doors are wide open and as an author it is very difficult to get readers to see you and take notice. All I can do is dedicate myself to writing the best story I can, promote it the best that I can and leaving the rest in the hands of the powers that be.

My hopes to heal, find myself, and move forward are worthy of my dedicated focus for now. Will I try love again after failing miserably so many times?

Hearts endure.

I am a romance writer after all, am I not. 🙂

Weekend Dirty Dozen

It’s Weekend Dirty Dozen Time Visit out other Weekend Dirty Dozen Writers. Weekend Dirty Dozen with “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” a story in “Once Upon A Twisted Tale” Anthology from Rebel Ink Press.

Ike is faced with a choice. Will he continue to live a lie? or Choose Nathaniel. We are in Ike’s POV

“His whole life he resisted his lust to embrace the love of a man and was in the process of seeking marriage to legitimatize himself for security and as a blind to hide his true nature. The imagined sounds and feelings of Nathaniel’s thrusts so powerful his balls would slap against Ike’s ass made him shiver. Did he have the strength to reach for the life he really wanted and flaunt it in the face of conventional society?
“What shall it be, Ike?” Nathaniel ran one finger down Ike’s cheek, drawing his gaze.
Ike pulled from his musing and looked up at Nathaniel. The man was lean muscle, bronzed from the sun. His flat, supple abs supported broad shoulders strung with defined, long hewn muscles. His cock teased and flexed, brushing his abdomen in a persuasive offering. Adonis. He was a God. Ike knew exactly how to worship him.”

Halloween – Religious Holiday – Halloween Blog Hop.

The Blog Hop Continues. Check out all the authors involved over at Drea’s Page. Many are running fantastic contests. I’m giving away an E-ARC of “Once Upon A Twisted Tale”

On the Subject of Halloween. To 9/10ths of the population Halloween is a fun freaky holiday to scare themselves with horror movies, dress up in costume, go bar hopping or take the kiddies around to neighbors houses begging goodies.

Is that all there is to Halloween?

The real celebration is Samhain. A Celtic celebration of harvest. Commemoration of the end of the “light” side of the year and beginning of the “Dark” side of the year. Festival of the Dead. A time to remember those who’ve passed on to the other side. Samhain is a time when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest. Contact with those who’ve passed from this life is most possible.

Have you ever had contact from someone who is on the other side of the veil?

Within the Wiccan religion the Aged Horned God reaches the end of his life and the Goddess is in the form of an elder crone. The cycle of seasons is drawing to a close. It is a time for ritual and celebration.

Alter gifts of fruits and vegetables is appropriate as it recognizes the harvest. The Apple is particularly appropriate in it’s symbolism of the cycle of life. The apple is picked from the tree or falls to rot on the ground. The flesh and seeds (life) are released back to the earth. Ultimately to be born again as the seeds sprout to grow a new tree. It is a symbolic representation of the eternity; life, death, and resurrection to new life.

I wonder how Wiccan and other Pagans feel about the traditions that have arisen around Halloween. Do they feel is is a desecration of a Holy Day?

Halloween Blog Hop Continues

With Halloween coming I wanted to post about horror movies or something trendy. But seriously, I can’t watch horror movies. They scare the bejeasus out of me.

I still have nightmares about the Exorcist which I saw in theaters. R.M. Kinore had me watch Night of the Living Dead the other day and I really got freaked out. I HATED the ending. Without spoiling it for you if you haven’t seen it. Okay it was a like 1968 black and white movie. However, it DID NOT have a happy ending

Last night we watched Paranormal Activities. That creaped me out big time. I don’t think I slept all night long.

So what is your favorite scary movie?

Or what costume do you love to dress as for Halloween?

Weekend Dirty Dozen – X Rated – M/M Historical Romance

This week’s selection for the Weekend Dirty Dozen’s second week is chosen from “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” A novellette M/M erotic romance story that published in “Once Upon A Twisted Tale” Rebel Ink Press, released October 17, 2011

I am participating in The Weekend Dirty Dozen, follow that hot link to see other authors participating. Check out the Weekend Dirty Dozen FaceBook Page at this link.

Setup: Nathaniel Hawkins takes the unconscious Ike Sandhill back to his estate to help him recover from being knocked from his galloping horse. Ike wakes while Nathaniel is bathing him and has an unexpected erotic response to Nathaniel’s attention.

12 line excerpt:

“Master Hawkins. Please forgive me. I’m not quite thinking clearly. I must have fallen from my horse.”

What would the gentleman think of Ike’s hard on, so inappropriate given the circumstances?

The hand stopped moving and Ike thought he might have felt it quiver. He started grasping at the sheets searching vainly for his clothes.

Ike babbled to ease his bewildered mind, fearing he might say something to regret once he found his senses. A confession of a ghoulish specter that’d chased him seemed somewhat unbelievable.

“I am quite sorry to have been a bother.”

Nathaniel’s hand closed around the base of Ike’s shaft in a firm determined grip and Ike’s response was instinctual. Groaning, he arched ever so slightly, thrusting with a hiss of need into the grip.

Blurb:

“The Galloping Ghoul rides each full moon, exacting revenge by frightening those who tormented his past. By day, he is one of the town people, Nathaniel Hawkins, an affluent entrepreneur. Ike goes to the extreme to prove to everyone how straight laced he is. He pursues Misty VonMix with the intention of marriage. Nathaniel doesn’t know how to confess his desire without driving Ike away. He comes up with a plan of seduction. Before the night is over Ike discovers things about himself he always knew, yet denied.”
