Fantasy Man Monday

Today’s Fantasy Man fodder search (Say that three times fast) took me searching for sexy men and their pets. On initial query I found pictures of bad dudes with scorpions. That really wasn’t the tone I was looking for today. However, I dug deeper and found these pictures that perhaps will make you say “Awww, Oooo!”

What is it about men and dogs? Guys take a note, instant conversation starter with girls. Cute dog goes along way as a character reference.

I passed a guy with his boxer dog on an outing at the farmers market, last week. The dog was a model of obedience. As a former animal trainer that spoke volumes to me about the kind of man I would find on the other end of the leash.

This guy might not have made Fantasy Man Monday on his own assets. But in this photo he is just the kind of guy you want to hug and squeeze. Isn’t he? I can see he would be fun and great to share some laughs with. Another big plus in the selection department. Fantasy Men come in all shapes and sizes. My Fantasy Man may or may not make your top ten list. My Fantasy Man tastes change in an array of qualities, not unlike a kaleidoscope. Mood, timing, thoughts and phases of the moon may alter what I find sexy and attractive. Today it was men with dogs that are self disciplined, fun and not hard at all to look at!

Sometimes, the Fantasy Man will surprise you.

Happy Monday everyone.

Weekend Dirty Dozen – Week 1 – PG-13 Rated Language

This week’s selection for the Weekend Dirty Dozen’s inaugural week is chosen from “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” A novellette M/M erotic romance story that published in “Once Upon A Twisted Tale” Rebel Ink Press, released October 17, 2011

Setup: Ike Sandhill’s horse bolted in terror. Nathaniel Hawkins in trying to save him, knocked Ike from his horse and fears he’s nearly killed him with his rescue effort.
12 line excerpt:

“Hell’s bells, what a goat fuck. Augustus stood patiently while Nathaniel hoisted Ike’s lanky frame up into the saddle and mounted behind to support his unconscious burden. The flight brought them to the borders of Nathaniel’s estate.

“Time to go home, Augustus.”

Nathaniel’s pulse pounded at the proximity of Ike in the saddle, his head resting on Nathaniel’s shoulder. How badly he wanted to brush the wayward lock of golden hair back from the man’s brow. No more hiding. Before the night was over, Nathaniel would be sure Ike Sandhill knew his full intentions. He couldn’t go on in this limbo half-life watching from afar. By dawn, they’d both be changed men. He prayed he could convince Ike to take what he had to offer, to take a chance, to take something, anything from him.
****
Ike roused with awareness that he was the center of some commotion.”

Fantasy Man Monday

I keep my family business pretty private from my writing life. I try not to even name my family members out of respect for their privacy. I can’t always resist.  My first grand child was born on September 3rd, 2011.  I’m not admitting how old I am. LOL.  Lets just say I am a very young grandmother. We have already decided that I shall be knowing as G.G.  Nanna, granny, grandma, grandmother, nothing worked.  G.G. just seemed to fit.  My oldest daughter, his mama, said “of course, G.G. stands for Gorgeous Grandma.  I can live with that.

My grand son is quite a fighter.  He had a rocky start in this world and spent his first week in Neonatal I.C.U.(Life is Fragile Blog)  His daddy is a Marine deployed to Afganistan.  Baby and Momi are both well and home.  My handsome grandbaby is now over a month old.  I have 312 pictures on my I phone I would love to show you. LoL.

I did a post awhile back about my Son In Law for one of my Fantasy Monday blogs (My SIL The Romance Hero). I could spend pages telling you about all the loving thoughtful things he does for my daughter. He takes care of her, loves her and makes her feel precious every day of their marriage, yet accepts that she is a strong and capable woman.  As you live a few years on this earth you begin to think that there aren’t any good men left. He is a good man.

However, not only is he a good man….my Son In Law is a real romance hero. He deserves another Fantasy Man Monday guest spot.

Of Course, I never doubted it.  He has been on his second deployment to Afganistan and was not able to be with my daughter for the pregnancy and birth of their son.  He is a Marine, he has to go when they say go.  My daughter took it well, saying she would rather he miss the pregnacy so he could be home for their child’s first’s.  The two of them missed their first Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthday’s, Anniversary during his first deployment. So, it was important to her for him to be home to see their baby’s first milestones.

My SIL is well respected amongst his peers and supervisors.  They all knew what had happened with the babies birth took a complicated turn. My SIL was able to be on the phone via skype to hear the baby being born.  Then in the days that followed, the redcross got word to SIL about the serious nature of the babies difficulties.  My SIL was not due to come home until the end of October, first part of November. He resisted leaving his men in the field.  My daughter assured him everything was undercontrol and he needed to continue to serve where he was needed.

Three days ago, my daughter got a bouquet of roses with a card that said “I”.

Two days ago, another bouquet with a card saying “Love”.

This morning her girlfriend took her and the baby out to the Cracker Barrell for breakfast.  A bouquet of red roses arrived at the table with a card printed “YOU”.

Moments later my SIL snuck up behind my daughter, wrapped his big old arms around her in a hug.

All the stress of months of being pregnant without her husband around, being brave when she was worried sick for him and didn’t want to worry him…… all the happiness and sadness all rolled together spilled down her cheeks in tears of happiness.

There may have been a few tears at surrounding tables. I’m sure there were several cheers and hands shook as strangers, wrapped into the new little families joy for a brief moment.

So, “Daddy” Welcome home. Sometimes when you surprise people you end up having to put up your own “Welcome Home” Banner

Time to buckle in for the tough years ahead. You thought WAR was HELL

So, When we gonna be talking about a girl chil grand baby?

I (heart) You! Awwww

The editor at Rebel Ink Press put out the call for authors to participate in the anthology due to come out October 17, 2011, with a theme of twisted fairy tales. I thought ah, just in time for Halloween! I have to get involved. After a little bit of research Nathaniel and Ike found me and told me their story.

“The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” M/M Erotic Historic Romance
The Galloping Ghoul rides each full moon, exacting revenge by frightening those who tormented his past. By day, he is one of the town people, Nathaniel Hawkins, an affluent entrepreneur. He identifies with Ike Sandhill, a government surveyor, and wants to protect him from the same thugs who drove Nathaniel to revenge. Nathaniel doesn’t know how to confess his desire without driving Ike away. He comes up with a plan of seduction. Before the night is over Ike discovers things about himself he always knew, yet denied.

“Massachusetts, 1790
Somewhere in the Bridgewater Triangle, old wives tell tales in hushed tones about strange lights in the sky and the Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp. They say the specter rides on the night of the full moon. They don’t know what drives him to haunt unsuspecting travelers. Those who’ve crossed his path flee in fear for their lives. If the victims know why he rides, they never say.”….

Fantasy Man Monday

One of my friends writes highlander stories. I love highlander stories.
My favorite being of course THE HIGHLANDER.

a mixture of favorites. Connor MacCloud

Sean Connery is such a handsome man in any role

While the movies were wonderful. I loved the t.v. series

What is your favorite male actor or movie role?

Cracked Me UP

I ordered t-shirts for give away’s to help promote myself as author. I took great pains in designing these shirts. They are awesome.

The front has a square with purple and red flowers down the side. There is a skull and some dragon flies. It is a nice graphic. The print was supposed to say Eden Glenn, Author, Erotic Paranormal Romance.

Then on the back there were the same purple flowers and red flowers. No skull but a couple of dragon flies. Then the print was supposed to say my blog address http://www.edenglenn.wordpress.com. Then “Leave Your Safe World Behind”.

I was following the thought of marketing myself as a brand. Not one specific book.

When they arrived I was excited to open them. Whoop Whoop. Imagine my expression when I read…instead of Eden Glenn, Author, Erotic Paranormal Romance I saw

Black Dog’s Deadliest Snatch

Whaaaa???? Now while that might be an awesome title for an erotic ? suspense? IDK. It is not now the title of any of my books nor is it expected to be in the near future. Seriously?
Seriously? Black Dog’s Deadliest Snatch.

The back of the t-shirt was correct.

Then I started to giggle. Somewhere, someone was opening a box just like I had with perhaps, great anticipation, expecting to read “Black Dog’s Deadliest Snatch” only to read….Eden Glenn, Author, Erotic Paranormal Romance on the front of their ordered shirts and their tag line on the back.

Yes, it is all true. Leave Your Safe World Behind.

Out there in the Blogosphere

This past weekend was an excellent conference hosted by Georgia Romance Writers. The Moonlight Magnolia. I had a wonderful time. I learned so many fun and interesting things. Sunday morning stands out at the moment. Leigh Michaels did a workshop on Writing Between The Sexes. Just by random zinger this topic was the first workshop I attended at First Coast Romance Writers taught by Tracy Montoya.

I was reminded of many points I’d almost forgotten about the communication style of men vs women. Believe me I was flipping through the electronic pages of the ARC for “Once Upon A Twisted Tale” to get to “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” to see if I had committed any of the communication sins making my men sound too girly. Whew. I didn’t find any glaring incidences of my men sounding like women. That could be why my editor found my men very three dimensional and not glaring of the typical sterotypes in a m/m romance.

I’ve been blogging around the blogosphere lately. Come over and visit these places.

Whipped Cream for Wednesday spotlight. You can find them through “Long and Short of It” reviews, if the hot link on Whipped Cream doesn’t work.
There is a contest to win an E copy of our ARC for “Once Upon A Twisted Tale” The gang over at Whipped Cream is featuring a writer from the anthology each day this week.

Thursday I am over at Lexxx Christian’s blog Throbbing Thursday. Come take a look at the snippet I dropped about “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp”

Happy Reading everyone.

Fantasy Man Monday

I realize it is only the end of September. Yet Fall is in the air and thoughts are turned to Halloween.

How do you like your Fantasy Man dressed for the season?

Pirates are the rage since Captain Jack Sparrow sailed through our fantasies.

And ever since Bravehart women all over the world wondered just what the Scottsman has hidden is under that kilt?

Oh and by the way, I am very particular about my vampires. You see…this is the thing…They don’t sparkle.

Vampires, an equally popular Halloween Choice.

However, you like your Fantasy Men dressed up…er. undressed

Be a little devil and have fun with the holiday season.
