What is your working title of your book?
LOL: Working Title was “The Fairy and Cat Story” is the humble way “Dar’kind Promises” started out.
Where did the idea come from for the book?
I saw a beautiful graphic art piece by Anne Stokes and created my Dar’kind Fairy, Maura
and almost simultaneously I found a picture of these unusual wild cats, Caracal Cats. And Zelia’s character was born. However, my Tracker Shifter character has spots somewhat like a Clouded Leopard.
In her human form I see Zelia as this beautiful red haired woman.
What genre does your book fall under?
Erotic Paranormal Romance
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Oh, that’s hard. I really have no idea!!
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Can I cheat and say, from Zelia’s POV it would be:
“Zelia is willing to risk becoming trapped in feline form and even losing the love she’s found with Maura if it means she can save Maura from the evil hunting them.”
and from Maura’s POV it would be:
If they are unable to figure out how to gain control of Zelia’s shifting, all hope for success of their mission as well as any possibility of their future together is lost.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I am a Rebel Ink Press Elite Author under exclusive contract with that publisher.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I average a novel per year. This past year I’ve dedicated to writing novellettes.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I’m not quite sure, Dar’kind Promises is unique. I don’t know that there is anything like it out there.
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
My Editor Dawn asked me to try my hand at writing a F/F love story. Dar’kind Promises was the result.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Zelia has another problem. Unfortunately, Zelia is experiencing unpredictable shifts between feline manifestion and her human one with some quite unexpected results.
Draft Blurb:
Dar’kind Fairy Maura comes to the human dimension on a search and rescue mission for one of her race. The success of the mission rests on her wits and the aid of her skilled feline tracker Zelia.
Unfortunately, Zelia is experiencing unpredictable shifts between feline manifestion and her human one with some quite unexpected results.
Worse yet, an ancient evil targets Maura in a bid for power and control of her magic.
Zelia is willing to risk becoming trapped in feline form and even losing the love she’s found with Maura if it means she can save Maura from the evil hunting them.
Maura searches for the strength to abandon the quest for her lost ‘sister’ if doing so will save Zelia’s life and stabilize her shifting abilities. Maura distracted by the sultry woman in her bed, struggles to stay focused on their quest. If they are unable to figure out how to gain control of Zelia’s shifting, all hope for success of their mission as well as any possibility of their future together is lost.

“Beverly’s Secret” is finished at 5,639 words and submitted to my editor at Rebel Ink Press. (Release date Mar/Apr 2013) This short novellette is a follow along in the series “Amethyst Desire”. The first in the series, “Raynia’s Magic” a bit longer novellette debuted last Feb, 2012. What happens when a mysterious amethyst necklace enters the lives of people in this small town? Magic.

Beverly Carter, clerk at Salynne’s Crystal’s and Thyme, could have sworn she placed the amethyst necklace in the display cabinet. How did the gem end up in her pocket? She’d have to take it back in the morning and explain her mistake to the shop owner.
Trying the necklace on for just a moment shouldn’t hurt anything. When the clasp won’t release she has to call on her next-door neighbor for help. A neighbor that Beverly hasn’t had the courage to approach. She’s pretty sure the woman is a lesbian, too. How to broach the subject without appearing a fool if she’s wrong? So, Beverly’s been stuck, just as stuck as the damn necklace.
Then Makala’s red lips were just too tempting, too perfect, too close. Kissing her first and asking second, “So do you play for the away team too? Ya wanna play on my field?” might have backfired. Yet, the way Makala accepted the kiss and returned it with unabashed enthusiasm answered all the questions left unasked.
Makala Reynaud certainly did want to play. They spent the night talking and having sex every way and everywhere possible in Makala’s small apartment. Beverly had to wonder if the rumors about the necklace were true. Was this some kind of magic that might only last the night? Or could this be the beginning of something magical with Makala?

And great news to add to this, Rebel Ink Press accepted my proposal for six shorts to release next year, every other month. They are part of the Amethyst Desire series. Story one, “Raynia’s Magic” released last Feb, 2012. The new novellettes will range in length from 5 to 10K words. The amethyst necklace made an appearance in “Raynia’s Magic”. At the end I left it open for the reader to decide if the pendant had any magical influence in the way the events unfolded. The mystery of the gem’s properties will continue through these next shorts.
They promise to be hot erotic situations with a laugh or two as you usually find in my stories.
I’m excited about the potential for the future. Stay tuned. LOL

On the Rebel Ink Press, Rebel Reasoning Blog writers are sharing some of their first date disasters. I couldn’t think of anything actually. I guess I am grateful for that as well.
Catchy title? I have to admit I haven’t discovered the secret of self-promotion. That’s why I say undiscovered. I tweet, I Face Book, I blog, I guest blog, I pay for advertisement, I’ve had promotional video’s made, I’ve made my own book trailers. It is all like so much unknown, at times, frantic activity. Somewhat like swimming in a blender.
I’m just a real person here trying to realize the dream of bringing my characters to life in hopes that someone will actually read the stories and enjoy them as much as I do. Oh and actually buy them rather than downloading them free from the pirates. I don’t think there is anything more simple or basic than than for a writer.
Yet, we are in the era of self publishing. It is alike a wild west frontier. The question so many authors are asking themselves is ‘How do I get through the volume of work out there (in all levels of quality) to get into the readers hands. I will say I am twice blessed to have found a publishing home at Rebel Ink Press.
However, we’ve all seen those sensations go nuclear. It’s like a cinderella story on steroids the way some books take on a life of their own with apparently very little effort and sometimes as a rather poor quality product. IMHO. A cult following arises and book becomes sensation, soaring to the top of the New York Times list, movies negotiations follow.
As writers, who’ve dedicated years to the craft of writing, we often shake our heads and….while being very happy for the successful princess of the day…. still…completely gobstobbered. We think, ‘So n So’ writes such a better crafted story etc. the gobsmacked self dialogue continues. If someone could discover what causes the meteoric phenomena and bottle it? OMG We’d I think we’d line up around the block for a taste of the magic potion in hopes of a glimmer of the success.
So, at the end of the day. I’m just a girl with a pencil who writes and hopes to find readers who are pleased with the journey I take them on, between the pages of a book.

FLASH 250:
The trouble about being lesbian is two-fold. First, you don’t know if a woman is available and second, most importantly, you don’t know if a woman wants to play in another girl’s kitchen. I scanned the crowd at the afternoon cocktail party. We were celebrating Jason Miles, a gifted photographer, and his art show, “A search for modern eroticism.”
The sea of people faded to monochrome, leaving the woman in a red dress and stillettos center stage. Her ebony hair danced across her heart shaped ass in waves as she moved across the room. A woman so naturally beautiful, the magic mirror would be telling Snow White she’d have to stand down to the new princess in the land, more fair than she.
My lady turned slightly to look over her shoulder. She had lush breasts in perfect matrimony with her curvy ass. Her bow shaped mouth parted so her tongue could tickle her bottom lip with a lick. A move so sexy my lips got jealous wanting their turn.
I lifted my chin in the unspoken “me?” of confident disbelief. She gave me a slow measured wink which clearly said “I’m wearing fuck-me red heels, what more do you need?”
I raced for that private library. Jason might have answered his search for modern eroticism on film. Mine was that doe eyed beauty with her lush little ass perched on the edge of an antique walnut desk, letting black satin and lace peek at me from between her thighs.
